Why study in the US?

In the United States in the past 25 years, the number of post-secondary institutions offering hospitality, travel and tourism programs have more than quadrupled. This has resulted in a wide variety of teaching techniques and approaches.

The common denominator that connects all sectors of Hospitality and Tourism is guest service. Although, not every programme is available in all schools, in general the following areas may be the best fields to study: recreation, travel, tourism, culinary, food and beverage.

For international students the US offers programs in a wide range of subjects, for example liberal arts, and specific skill areas such as “Hotel and Restaurant Accounting”, “Resort Management” or “Ecotourism”. In the US, hospitality training has a tendency to focus on creative thinking and leadership, to prepare managers rather than staff employees.
