Why study in England

England is rich in history and tradition. But there is so much more to this interesting country than "fish ’n chips" due to an influx of cultures that have made this their home and bringing with them new traditions and customs of their own. It is important for British to be British but they are not afraid to explore new things.

For students wishing to study in England there are numerous options. Several universities and colleges in England offer excellent programs to foreign nationals. The country repeatedly attracts students who are drawn by its varied landscape, rich history, customs, and world-famous education system.

High demand in the UK Hospitality Industry

Basically, almost everywhere you go in the UK a business can be found that is connected with the hospitality industry. The variety can span from the corner vendor to football match to a posh restaurant and everything in between. With such a vast industry it is no surprise that over 10% of the country’s consumer spending is in the hospitality industry. That is some serious “dosh”; in excess of 50 billion pounds!

The educational system in UK

England offers free education for all children from ages 5 to 18, with mandatory attendance until the age of 16. After the age of 16 students take the GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education) exam. Students are tested on basic curriculum and one addition extra curriculum subject. Upon completion of the GCSE, students may leave school or attend a technical college, whilst other students continue two more years to prepare for A levels in three to four additional subjects. These exams will establish whether or not a student is eligible for university. Approximately 94 percent of students in the UK receive free education from public funds, while around 6 percent attend independent tuition paying schools. All Government run schools, state schools, follow the same National Curriculum.
